Vinnod Prabhakar Reveals: Maadeva Was Turned Down by Other Stars for a Surprising Reason

The main selling point of Vinnod Prabhakar's films was that, assuming they included at least 4–5 fight scenes, they often enjoyed a strong market for Hindi dubbing rights. During the pandemic, however, this came to a standstill, and the actor was subsequently contacted to star in Khaki-maker Naveen Reddy's upcoming film, Maadeva. Before approaching Vinnod, Naveen had attempted to sell his film to a number of other heroes, but he had been turned down everywhere he went.

But the chance was seized upon by Vinnod, a performer in Navagraha. "When Naveen brought the picture to a few other heroes, they turned it down because of the inconsistencies in the protagonist's personality and the fact that he has little to say in the film. The actor stated that the protagonist is a hangman who, due to particular events, transforms from being wild like an animal to being a calm family man before being driven to extremes once more.

According to Vinnod, the most difficult aspect of accepting the role was that he had to communicate almost entirely via his eyes or body language, without saying a word. However, all of this thrilled Vinnod, who saw it as a chance to demonstrate to the public that he is more than just a six-pack-abs-flaunting hero with excellent fighting skills. The actor began by perfecting his appearance, which included using colored contact lenses and altering his hair color for a greater effect. He also toned down his mannerisms in order to portray a man of few words.

But then, according to him, his co-star Sonal (Banaras, Panchatrantra) would make it hard for him to act. "We'd worked together on Roberrt earlier, and at the time, we hardly knew each other. But with time, we grew to be close friends, and she wed Tharun Sudhir, a Roberrt filmmaker who was also my friend. We had a certain rapport and level of comfort by the time we started filming for Maadeva, and she would always make me laugh, particularly when she was on set for suggestion shots. The actor recalls with pleasure that it was hard to maintain a straight face and act.
