Vikrant Massey Advocates for Deepika Padukone’s Right to 8-Hour Shifts as a New Mom

Since Deepika Padukone's alleged departure from Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Spirit, the continuous discussion over enacting an eight-hour shift in the Bollywood film business has picked up steam. Deepika's Chhapaak co-star Vikrant Massey supported her call for fewer working hours in a recent interview with Firstpost, saying that in a few years he hopes to adopt the same strategy.
Vikrant Massey's eight-hour workday in the film industry
"I aspire to do something like that very soon," Vikrant said, expressing his opinion on the possibility of an eight-hour workday in Bollywood. Perhaps in a few years... We can collaborate, I want to declare, but I would only work for eight hours. However, it should also be a choice. And because there are so many other factors involved in producing a movie, my producer might not be able to make that happen.
"Money plays a very important role, and I will have to reduce my fees as I will be working for eight hours instead of twelve," he said, adding that he would be willing to lower his fees in order to facilitate this transition. I can't go out there and not lower my rate if I can't provide my producer twelve hours a day. My fee should be lower. It's a reciprocal relationship, right? And I believe Deepika merits it as a young mother.
Spirit, which also features Prabhas, was initially planned for Deepika to play the female lead. Nonetheless, after she allegedly left the project, it was stated that the filmmaker had refused some of her demands, including the ability to not perform her lines in Telugu, a share of the film's earnings, and an eight-hour workday. Triptii Dimri eventually took her place.
Vikrant Massey and Deepika Padukone's upcoming projects
Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan, which marks Shanaya Kapoor's Bollywood debut, will feature Vikrant in the lead role. Under the direction of Santosh Singh, the film is produced by Mansi Bagla and Varun Bagla under Zee Studios and Mini Films. The movie, which is an adaptation of Ruskin Bond's short tale The Eyes Have It, is set to hit theaters on July 11.
In the meanwhile, Deepika will next appear in Atlee's forthcoming film, AA22×A6, in which Allu Arjun plays the main character.
