At the inauguration of Dil Raju Dreams in Hyderabad on Saturday, Vijay Deverakonda discussed his early days as an actor in the film business. From 16,000 candidates, the actor remembered being selected for Sekhar Kammula's Life is Beautiful and how the movie transformed his life.
On auditioning for Life is Beautiful, Vijay Deverakonda
"I remember in 2011 or 2012, I made a habit of opening the Idlebrain website to check if there were casting calls," Vijay said during his onstage address about how desperate he was to get a foothold in the film industry when he had auditioned for Kammula's picture. Social media was not as ubiquitous as it is today. I have a clear recollection of seeing that Sekhar Kammula is looking for actors for a movie titled Life is Beautiful. I was only in my first or intermediate year of my degree when he produced Happy Days in 2007. I wasn't trying to become an actor just yet. I had been trying to break into movies for a year after finishing my degree when I saw this casting advertisement.
“I still remember how I felt while applying and auditioning; it took me six months to get the role,” the actor remarked, recalling his months-long wait to learn whether or not he had secured the part. I had a cause to get out of bed every day since I was so anxious at the time, and it was rewarding. It was preferable to having no choices. The movie had 16,000 applications submitted for it. I was chosen, along with eleven others, including Naveen Polishetty. That film had a significant impact on our lives, albeit in a modest way.
The Dreams of Dil Raju, the Producer
In order to provide aspiring actors and technicians seeking a way into the Telugu film business a chance, Dil Raju Dreams was established by Dil Raju, the producer. "I know how important an opportunity like that is," Vijay remarked at the event, adding that nothing would make him happier than knowing that at least one person had gained from it. I'm sure a lot of people must have felt a glimmer of optimism when Dil Raju unveiled Dil Raju Dreams today. Due to this, I believe it would be sufficient even if one of your aspirations came true. In five years, when one of you is speaking about this on the stage, as I am now, I will be quite content and have a big smile on my face.
Nuvvila, which launched Vijay's career in the film industry in 2011. His second film, Life Is Beautiful, was released in 2012. He was last observed in Kalki 2898 AD and The Family Star. He will next appear in Kingdom and an upcoming untitled movie by Rahul Sankrithyan.
