In Chennai on Thursday (May 29), Rajesh Williams, a veteran actor and entrepreneur who appeared in hundreds of Tamil and Malayalam movies and television shows, passed away. He was 75 years old. Rajesh was well-known throughout his career for portraying a variety of characters, both as a main performer and as a supporting actor.

The news of the actor-businessman's passing on Thursday was verified to DT Next by Rajesh's nephew. He passed away while being taken to the hospital after reporting low blood pressure in the morning. His son Deepak, who made his acting debut in 2014, and his daughter Divya are his surviving children. His wife, Joan Sylvia Vanathirayar, passed away in 2012.

Following the announcement of his death, Radhika Sarathkumar posted on X (formerly Twitter), saying, "Deeply shocked and sudden to hear of #rajesh s unexpected demise." Family, friends, and the film industry will miss the many films we watched together and my great admiration for his extensive understanding of cinema and life. #RIP."
Producer-author G Dhananjayen posted, “Very sad to read about the passing away of Actor #Rajesh sir, a fine actor and a respected person in film industry. My heartfelt condolences to the family. Rest in peace sir.”
Regarding Rajesh's work
In Mannargudi, Tiruvarur, Rajesh was born to Williams Nattar and Lily Grace Mankondar. From 1972 through 1979, he taught at a high school. He made his acting debut in 1974 in a minor role in Aval Oru Thodar Kathai. The movie Kanni Paruvathile, released in 1979, was the only time he had the chance to play a leading role.
He appeared in K. Balachander's 1984 movie Achamillai Achamillai. Rajesh has recently contributed to TV series like Micro Thodargal-Azhukku Vetti and Karthigai Deepam. In the Tamil version of the movie, Sriram Raghavan's Merry Christmas, which starred Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi, he was last seen playing Yadhoom Uncle.
In addition to entering the hotel and real estate sectors, Rajesh established himself as one of Chennai's top developers.
