Actor Aamir Khan has officially responded to the love jihad accusations that surfaced during the premiere of his 2014 movie, PK. In a frank discussion on Aap Ki Adalat, Aamir confirmed that the movie aims not to ridicule any faith. The performer also demonstrated with examples from his own life that not all interfaith unions can be called love jihad.

What Aamir Stated

Aamir responded to the accusations against PK by saying, "Hum kisi bhi dharm ke khilaaf nahi hain." We have great respect for all religions. We have a lot of respect in our hearts for religious people as well. Jo log dharam ka sahi istemal nahin karte, aur aam logon ko dhoka dete hain... That movie was made to save him. You will find such people in every religion. So, the only goal of the movie was to warn people to stay away from those who are doing this (We are not against any religion. We honour every faith and all those who practice them. The movie warns us to be wary of people who use religion to deceive the general public for financial gain. Such individuals may be found in every faith. The only objective of the movie was that. As a result, avoid such ones.)

"People of different religions sometimes feel like doing this."

Regarding the love jihad allegations against PK, Aamir stated, "First and foremost, I want to say that whenever people of two different religions come together out of love and want to get married, it is not always love jihad." It's a matter of humanity that people of different religions sometimes agree. When individuals from two different religions fall in love and want to get married, it's not necessarily love jihad. Their love for one another is such that their union represents all of mankind. "It is above religion."

Aamir then provided examples from his own family, mentioning that his younger sister Farhat is wed to Rajeev Dutta and that his sister Nikhat is wed to Santosh Hegde. Ira then married Nupur Shikhare.

Aamir is getting ready for the premiere of his next movie, Sitaare Zamein Par. The movie will be released in theatres on June 20.
