But in a recent interview, director Tarun Mansukhani defended the picture.

Tarun discusses misogyny in Housefull 5

Tarun stated in a conversation with Just Too Filmy that such roles might be misogynistic and sexist, but that they do not represent his personal views.

"Not every movie or every shot of a character reflects the director's life." The character is undoubtedly flawed, but why can't he be? Why can't he be sexist or misogynistic? That's who he is. Many individuals have informed me that girls are treated as objects. Dino Morea is constantly without a shirt. Everyone remains silent. My three main boys are displaying their rear ends. Isn't it cheeky? But no one speaks up. It is good, and it is as you want to see it. Feel free to do so as long as you like.

The director stated that it would have been preferable for reviewers to address his storytelling technique and style rather than their criticism of the film.

"I wish they would critique my storytelling and my technique." I hope they critique the other areas they are supposed to. It appears that more critical opinions are expressed on a personal level at this time. I have an issue with individuals who respond by saying, "Oh, don't watch this film." "Don't find methods to make it worse," Tarun stated, noting that our sector is already experiencing turmoil.
