India Today reports that Sunjay Kapur, Karisma Kapoor's ex-husband, has passed away at the age of 53 from a heart attack. Sunjay was wed to Priya Sachdev and worked as a businessman. He had two children with Karisma and one with Priya.

According to the report, Sunjay became unwell while playing polo. Suhel Seth also posted a condolence note on Twitter. He expressed his deep sorrow at the death of @sunjaykapur, who died earlier today in England, and extended his heartfelt sympathies to his family and colleagues @sonacomstar. "Om Shanti," he added.

Incidentally, Kapur's most recent social media update, posted only a few hours ago, conveyed his sorrow for the Air India passengers who perished in the Thursday afternoon disaster.

Sunjay Kapur, the head of Sona Comstar, an automotive systems company, was just chosen to lead the northern part of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). He intended to guide CII's northern region through seven states—Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Uttarakhand—and three Union territories—Chandigarh, Jammu & Kashmir, and Ladakh.

"To promote industrial growth and policy reforms, our strategic roadmap concentrates on six important priority areas: innovation and sustainability, skill development, membership engagement, strengthening MSMEs, growth and inclusiveness, and policy advocacy." "One crucial requirement is to strengthen the relationship between MSMEs, startups, and academia, creating a synergy that enhances the area's natural abilities and opens up new avenues for economic expansion," Kapur said.

Sunjay and Karisma got married in 2003, and their divorce was completed in June 2016. When the couple sought a divorce in 2005, the Delhi High Court urged them to consider negotiating a settlement. Karisma relocated to Mumbai from his Delhi home in 2010, the year her younger son Kiaan was born. The couple made the decision to divorce in 2014 and submitted a divorce petition.
