Sunjay Kapur, a businessman and the former husband of actress Karisma Kapoor, passed away Thursday night. He suffered a heart attack while playing polo and died, according to an India Today story. He was fifty-three.

Sunjay was also found to have posted a condolence note for the victims of the Air India plane disaster, which claimed the lives of over 200 people, only hours before his death.

"Awful news of the tragic Air India accident in Ahmedabad. Sunjay tweeted, "My thoughts and prayers are with all the families affected. May they find strength in this difficult hour. #planecrash."

The irony of the circumstance left internet users heartbroken. "Very, very unfortunate day. Om shanti to your soul as well," one remark said. "Little did Sunjay know when he was posting the above message as well as this below just three days back that his own time has come. Om Shanti," read another.

Just three days prior, Sunjay had shared a post about life's uncertainties. "Your time on Earth is limited. Leave the 'what ifs' to the philosophers and instead dive headfirst into the 'why nots.'"

Who is Sunjay Kapur?

Sunjay Kapur, the son of industrialist Dr. Surinder Kapur, was an Indian entrepreneur and the Chairman of Sona Comstar, a prominent automotive technology firm that specializes in producing precision-forged gears and driveline components. He has been instrumental in extending the company's worldwide reach. Sunjay also held the position of President of India's Automotive Component Manufacturers Association (ACMA). He had two kids with Karisma Kapoor, his ex-wife. He wed Priya Sachdev, a businesswoman and model, following their divorce.

So far, Priya has spoken publicly about Sunjay's death.
