Sonam Bajwa has joined the cast of Border 2, according to Pinkvilla. She will start filming the movie at the end of June. Sonam will portray a strong-willed Punjabi girl in the movie.

However, the source also said that the producers have begun filming in Pune with Diljit Dosanjh. Varun Dhawan, on the other hand, is said to be portraying Major Hoshiar Singh Dahiya, a Param Vir Chakra Awardee. Following the Indo-Pakistani war of 1971, he was elevated to Colonel in 1976.
