On a recent podcast, actress Shruti Haasan covered a wide range of topics, including marriage, motherhood, and love. She spoke openly on Ranveer Allahbadia's podcast about her lifelong desire to be a mother and the reason why marriage 'petrifies' her. This is what she stated.

Shruti Haasan's perspective on marriage

Shruti has been open about her wish not to get married for the time being, even during her relationship with artist Shantanu Hazarika. She explained her decision by saying, "I just want to say I'm petrified at the idea of marriage, and I have no fear in saying that. I have a great love for everything. The prospect of tying it down with a piece of paper seems really frightening to me since I've worked so hard my entire life to be myself. That's all. However, I believe in fidelity, commitment, and all the ideals that marriage is meant to stand for. I don't need a piece of paper to accomplish that.

On the desire to be a mother

Shruti didn't mention any names, but she did say that she had almost gotten married in the past, but the relationship ended because they weren't compatible. She claimed that because of "potential children," it was also crucial for spouses to get along. “I have always wanted to be a mother,” she answered when asked about motherhood. However, I've always believed that a kid needs two parents, so I've never wanted to be a single mother. It would be wonderful if you could strive to have two parents. I don't want to make single parents feel ashamed. Perhaps I would adopt. I find youngsters to be fascinating.

In Prashanth Neel's 2023 film Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire, Shruti made her most recent appearance. Along with the upcoming sequel to Salaar, named Salaar Part 2: Shouryanga Parvam, which has not yet begun production, she will soon star in H Vinoth's Jana Nayagan, Mysskin's Train, and Lokesh Kanagaraj's Coolie.
