Shloka Mehta Opens Up About Creating a Legacy for the Next Ambani Generation

Together with co-founder Maniti Shah, Shloka Mehta recently interviewed influencer Masoom Minawala to discuss ConnectFor. The eldest daughter-in-law of the Ambani family discussed a variety of topics during the interview, including the non-profit organization she helped co-found in December 2015, women in philanthropy, the support she receives from her husband Akash Ambani, and more.

Leaving a legacy for her children to inherit

In the video uploaded to Masoom Minawala's YouTube channel on July 18, Shloka Mehta responded to a question about juggling work and motherhood by saying that her participation in a non-profit organization like ConnectFor is a way for her to create a legacy for her and Akash Ambani's children. Prithvi Akash Ambani and Veda Ambani are the couple's two children.

"It's not that I need you (her children) to work in the social realm, but rather that the market doesn't matter how niche something feels. You will create opportunities if you have strong feelings about anything. It all comes down to the kind of message you're leaving behind. I am really proud of telling my children that "Mumma has to go to the office, you are going to school, we are all doing things to make ourselves better."

"You need to be aware of the world around you," she continued. You have to ask yourself, "What can I do for it?" In my case, it has strengthened my resolve twofold because you are building something for someone you have a vested interest in and who will be affected by it. In my opinion, that is the greatest legacy you could give to your children. I was enthusiastic about something and genuinely followed my heart, and I wanted them to do the same. I want that for my children, nieces, and nephews. They must understand that any job is acceptable. You can have a job, make a lot of money, or create something that takes a lot of time, but you have to think you are creating something worthwhile.

Akash Ambani's backing for her project

Shloka also discussed her greatest achievement and the support her family gave her while she managed the charity during the talk. The entrepreneur stated that her greatest accomplishment in establishing ConnectFor has been surviving, which would not have been conceivable without the assistance of her and her co-founder, Maniti Shah's, family.

“If they hadn't been so supportive and believed in us as much as we did, none of this would have been possible. Our husbands and parents are quite proud, saying, "This is what my wife does." It's been quite fortunate.
