Veteran actor Shishir Sharma has shared his deep appreciation for the upcoming movie Sant Tukaram, calling it part of a positive trend in Indian cinema. He sees these films, like Phule before it, as a chance to highlight historical and spiritual figures in a new way. Sharma believes this shift is a big plus for the Mumbai film scene and Indian movies as a whole.

Talking about his role, Sharma said, “It’s been made so beautifully. I only had a couple of scenes—maybe three—but the feeling of doing a film like this is special. These kinds of movies let you connect with something deeper. With Sant Tukaram following Phule, I think it’s a wonderful trend. I hope more films like this keep coming.”

Directed by Aditya Om and produced by B. Gautham and Rohini LB Singh with Purushottam Studios, Sant Tukaram is a tribute to one of India’s most respected saints. The film tells the story of Tukaram Maharaj, a simple man who became a well-loved poet, saint, and spiritual leader. Many call him Jagat Guru today. His life was full of devotion and kindness, inspiring many generations.

The film features a strong cast, including Subodh Bhave, Shiva Suryavanshi, Sheena Chohan, Sanjay Mishra, Arun Govil, Shishir Sharma himself, Hemant Pandey, Ganesh Yadav, Lalit Tiwari, and Twinkle Kapoor. It promises to be both inspiring spiritually and rewarding artistically. As Indian viewers grow more interested in stories about history, values, and pride, Sant Tukaram is sure to strike a chord.
