Raj has defended himself, citing losses from the 2016 demonetisation that hit their cash-dependent operations hard, including heavy advertising spends. The EOW has recorded statements, issued a Look-Out Circular, and the Bombay High Court recently ordered them to deposit Rs 60 crore for overseas travel. Their lawyer insists it's a civil matter, resolved partly by the NCLT in 2024, with no criminal intent.
