Kuberaa is a huge hit in theaters and has no intention of letting up. The movie has brought in more than Rs 80 crore worldwide, with a respectable Rs 6 crore earned on its tenth day of release. Sekhar Kammula has spoken about Kuberaa for the first time since its release, discussing which scenes were effective in theaters and which were not.

In an interview, Sekhar stated that he anticipated thunderous applause for the interval bang, during which the dogs' character rescued Dhanush, but that it didn't happen. "I expected the theaters to applaud the way Dhanush becomes helpless and the dogs come to his rescue, but that didn't happen, and I was taken aback," says Kammula.

But the director of Happy Days and Godavari claims that his favorite moment is when Dhanush dresses up and donates money to beggars at a temple. "The manner in which Dhanush glances back at the beggars and the smiles on their faces as he mounts the stairs speaks volumes about philosophy. In my opinion, that was the finest scene and the ideal change for Dhanush's role, says Kammula.

The well-known director also states that he was pressured by the producers to shorten the movie, but he refused. "Every scene in the film is important, and I was sure no one would complain about the runtime, as the story and narrative are quite gripping." In contrast, Kammula says, "everyone else was quite cool with it, with just a few reviewers feeling otherwise."

The story of Kuberaa centers on a beggar who is persuaded by a wealthy man to carry out a huge swindle involving oil deposits in the Bay of Bengal. Pushpa fame Devi Sri Prasad wrote the music for the movie, which was produced by Sunil Narang. The movie Kuberaa will be available on Amazon Prime Video in the second week of July 2025, thanks to the digital rights that the platform acquired at a high price.
