Sapthami Gowda interview about Thammudu
How did you bag this project?
Post the release of Kantara, director Venu Sreeram contacted me for a key role in Thammudu. I auditioned for my character, Ratna, and was roped in. After a few days, I was given the dialogue version to prep my lines ahead of the shoot.
Tell us about your character?
I play the role of Ratna, a village belle from the small town of Ambaralagodugu. She is a huge fan of Pawan Kalyan and gets involved in the issues faced by Nithiin and his sister, played by Laya. Thammudu is a serious film, and my character brings a lot of relief to the proceedings.

What steps did you take to get ready for the movie?
I trained for three weeks after being asked to learn how to ride a horse. Although everyone believes that I play a radio DJ in the movie, I don't. I put a lot of effort into my Telugu and made sure I was well-prepared for the shoot. My persona frequently makes fun of things in the movie, even though the circumstances are stressful, without being aware of the real problem.
The movie features several heroines. What makes your persona unique?
Thammudu is an intense emotional action drama with five powerful female leads, played by Lavanya, Swasika, Ditya Varsha, and myself. They all contribute significantly and advance the plot. In addition to participating in mass action scenes in the movie, my character also has a romantic side.

What led you to select fewer movies after Kantara's enormous success?
After Kantara, I received a number of movie offers in Tamil and Kannada, but unfortunately, all the parts were the same: that of a village belle. In the end, I turned down a lot of proposals. However, when Thammudu approached me, I thought that Dil Raju and his large production company were the ideal platform for my Telugu debut. Of all the characters, I believe the audience will recall Ratna from Thammudu.
Interacting with people like Nithiin?
My role in the movie is unique, as is Nitiin's. Our teenage love tale develops into exquisite moments that don't break the plot. Nithiin's responses and the humorous aspects of my personality are meant to be quite intriguing. Nithiin was a great help to me throughout the shoot since he is a complete professional.

What should we anticipate from Thammudu?
Unlike most action dramas, Thammudu doesn't adhere to the norm. The five women in the novel drive the plot forward, which takes place throughout the course of one evening. The picture has an A rating, but aside from the intense action scenes, the audience won't find anything offensive in it.
