With the upcoming release of his Tamil movie Phoenix, actor Vijay Sethupathi is a happy father as his son Surya makes his acting debut. Recently, at the Chennai audio release of the film, the actor was overcome with emotion when he saw his son following in his footsteps. He also disclosed that his son Surya's debut was a result of Atlee's Shah Rukh Khan-starring film Jawan.

At the audio launch, Vijay said that it's like leaving him off on his first day of school to see him enter the public eye. He recalled the mix of pride and anxiety he felt when he first brought him to school. "It was exactly like the day I dropped him off at school for the first time," he said.

Surya was also discovered by master Anl Arasu during the production of the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Jawan, and he was given the opportunity to star in an action picture, for which he expressed his gratitude. "Mass action films have always been Surya's favorite." I told him to make his own choice if he liked the screenplay. In Jawan, where Vijay played the villain, he only asked once whether he was having fun, to which he answered yes, and that was all I needed.

Additionally, the performer expressed gratitude to Devadarshini for treating Surya as if he were her own child. "He's very adaptable and self-aware," he said in conclusion of his speech. What makes me happy is that he analyzes his errors and learns from them.

Recent research

Following a great 2024 with Viduthalai Part 2, Merry Christmas, and Maharaja, Vijay starred in Ace this year and made a cameo appearance in Mohanlal's Thudarum. He has two movies scheduled for release this year, Train and Thalaivan Thalaivii. In a few films that starred his father, Surya played the role of a youngster actor. He has had significant roles in Sindhubaadh, Viduthalai Part 2, and Naanum Rowdy Dhaan. Phoenix marks Surya's debut as a lead actor, while stunt expert Anl Arasu makes his directorial debut.
