Rituparno Ghosh breathed his last 11 years ago, on May 30, 2013. His sudden demise came as a shock, not only to the Bengali film industry but also to Indian cinema lovers. Rituparno’s name is permanently etched in the history of Bengali cinema.

However, it is not only his films, Rituparno also made an impact with his prolific writings and anchoring. When he brought his talk show, it was like a revolution in television. His Ghosh & Company is an unforgettable show. That piece of nostalgia is making a comeback, but not on television. It will stream on Star Jalsha’s social media – Facebook and YouTube – pages.

Many noted celebrities came to that show. Aparna Sen, Mousumi Chatterjee, Shreya Ghosal, Sourav Ganguly, Dona Ganguly, and other celebrities were seen talking to Rituparno in the show.

Popular radio host Mir also came to the show. Rituparno had grilled the RJ for his ‘misrepresentation’ of the LGBTQIA+ community in a television comedy show hosted by Mir. The episode of Ghosh & Company has a detailed discussion about LGBTQIA+. While Rituparno argued that Mir’s representation humiliates the community, the latter defended that his show was about plain comedy and often defies ‘political correctness’. Earlier in his show, Mir mimicked effeminate attitude and homosexuality. In fact, that episode created a lot of controversy during that time.
