Deepika Padukone sprang up quite a surprise on Saturday morning as she onboarded AA22xA6, the much-awaited pan-India collaboration between Allu Arjun and Atlee. The film will be Deepika's second Telugu pan-India film after Kalki 2898 AD. Interestingly, the announcement comes days after the actor exited Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Prabhas-starrer Spirit under acrimonious circumstances. And the internet was quick to find some faults in the narrative around that exit. 

AA22xA6 is a Telugu-language film, which is likely to be released in Tamil and Hindi as well, given the involvement of Atlee and Deepika now. After Deepika had exited Spirit, reports had claimed that Vanga did not agree to her demand of not saying her lines in Telugu, among other things. After the announcement for the Allu Arjun film was made on Saturday, Reddit poked holes in this theory. "Yup, so it was never about speaking Telugu or 8 hours or remuneration. All those were lies? Guess we now know who the bigger liar was in this whole saga," wrote one.

"Vanga was not ok with her demands," a different Redditor said in response to another Redditor's queries as to why Deepika is making a Telugu picture right now. However, Atlee is fine with it. That is the sole distinction. However, others viewed it as proof that Vanga had been lying about Deepika's reluctance to use Telugu in front of the camera. "Doesn't that just show Vanga was lying," one person questioned.

"Deepika and, for that matter, any person is free to make his/her own choice. The fact is top makers are approaching her," one sensible individual said.

The movie's producers, Sun Pictures, released a video on Saturday morning of Deepika and Atlee conversing. It was captioned, "The Queen marches to conquer!❤Welcome onboard @deepikapadukone ✨#TheFacesOfAA22xA6. #AA22xA6 - A Magnum Opus from Sun Pictures.”

Before the scene switches to a studio, Deepika is seen talking with Atlee in the video. Her character, which seems to be that of a warrior, is depicted in concept sketches as leaping into the air and wielding a battle axe. Atlee directs Deepika in a regulated setting as we catch a peek of her performing the actions.

Deepika's departure from Spirit

Prabhas plays the lead role in Spirit, an action thriller being helmed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. Deepika joined the cast earlier this year, but she quit in May. According to sources, the producers deemed her demands for eight-hour workdays and not speaking her lines in Telugu to be "unprofessional." However, considering that she is a new mother, the actress gained support for her request for an eight-hour shift.

Later, Deepika was charged by Vanga with leaking the plot of his movie. She was eventually replaced by Triptii Dimri. The movie hasn't even begun filming yet.
