For failing to make use of his call sheet, Tamil performer Ravi Mohan filed a petition in the Madras High Court requesting $90 million in damages from the production company, Bobby Touch Gold Universal Private Limited. According to a report by TNIE, this occurred after the production company sued him, demanding that he repay the advance sum of ₹6 crore that they had paid him.

Ravi Mohan files a countersuit after bringing a lawsuit for ₹6 crore

According to the report, Ravi filed a lawsuit in the Madras HC against the company for wasting his time on two films. The case was brought before Justice Abdul Quddhose on Wednesday for a hearing. At court, Ravi said that he and the production firm had agreed on dates for filming the first of the two movies they had decided upon. He maintained a 80-day schedule, starting on January 1, 2025 and continuing through March 21. He asserted that because of a production delay, he was obliged to take time off work and is hence entitled to compensation. Additionally, Ravi requested the court to "attach the property of the company" and "to provide a security deposit of ₹9 crore" until the lawsuit is resolved.

The statements made by the production business

The judge had ordered Ravi to submit his defense on Tuesday in response to a civil complaint brought by the production business, which sought that he repay the purported ₹6 crore advance that was given to him. Additionally, they had requested a temporary injunction preventing the performer from working on any film that was made by or by a third party. The production company said they gave Ravi the advance in September 2024 after signing a contract with him for one of the two movies they had planned. They assert that he broke the terms of the deal in order to make his own movie.

With Nithya Menen, Ravi's most recent role was in the romantic drama Kadhalika Neramillai, which came out this year. He will soon appear in Karathey Babu, Parasakthi, Genie, and Thani Oruvan 2.
