In 2023, Bollywood stars Randeep Hooda and Lin Laishram got married in Manipur in a customary Meitei ceremony. On social media, the pair uploaded a few really cute images from their wedding. Randeep spoke in an interview with Mid-Day about the wedding ceremonies, which he attended for the first time, and described the drama that occurred at his own wedding.

The actor recounted the journey, noting that he traveled to Manipur with a party of 10 to 12 individuals and acknowledged that they were unfamiliar with the local traditions and ceremonies. He said that even if Lin had tried to show him videos to help him comprehend the rituals beforehand, he had been too busy working on Swatantrya Veer Savarkar at the time.

Despite the fact that both cultures produce the finest athletes and boxers, there are significant differences between the Haryanvi and Manipuri cultures. Theirs is so methodical, whereas ours is so harsh and vulgar. I thought, "Now a film can be made," because she was wearing so much gold. Randeep and Lin dated for years before tying the knot. They met for the first time during their theatre days. While they never made their relationship public, they shared pictures on social media during festivals. Lin shared their love story with the news agency ANI: "We actually met at Naseeruddin Shah's theatre group called Motley, and he was my senior. That's where I met him. We were friends, and it's turning into a beautiful journey."
