The highly anticipated movie based on the Ramayana has Ranbir Kapoor playing Lord Ram, and Mukesh Chhabra, the filmmaker and casting director, spoke about his choice. When discussing the characteristics that made Ranbir ideal for the legendary role, Mukesh highlighted the actor's serene demeanor, intrinsic innocence, and innate acting skills.

What made Ranbir so clear?

Ranveer Allahabadia and Mukesh spoke about the casting of Ramayan on a podcast last year. In Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayan, in which Sai Pallavi plays Sita and Kannada actor Yash plays Raavan, the casting director explained why Ranbir was the obvious choice for the role of Lord Ram.

Mukesh went on to say that Ram needed this innocence and serenity on his face in order to properly depict a holy and globally admired character. "There's this innocence, a calmness on his face—which was needed. There's a child in him, and it shows," he said.

Mukesh, who is known for his careful casting selections, also lauded Ranbir for prioritizing performance over publicity and pressure. He is unbeatable in the field of acting. He is quite impartial; he is not impacted by hits or failures. He's in a world of his own. He simply wants to behave.

In a sector sometimes characterized by showmanship, Ranbir is distinguished by his understated intensity and emotional profundity, according to Mukeh, who called him an "effortless actor."

The Ramayana's initial glimpse was revealed

Ramayana, which is directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra, promises to be a visually beautiful and emotionally powerful retelling of the ancient Indian epic. With Ranbir Kapoor portraying Lord Ram and Sai Pallavi playing the part of Sita, the movie has an all-star ensemble. In the two-part picture, Yash will play Ravan and Sunny Deol will play Lord Hanuman. The first half will be released on Diwali 2026, with the second half coming to theaters on Diwali 2027.
