Ramayana first glimpse reactions: The "introduction" video of Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Yash, Sai Pallavi, and Sunny Deol, was released on Thursday. Yash appeared as Ravana and Ranbir as Lord Ram in the breathtaking initial glance. People were quick to make comparisons between the internet and Om Raut's disappointing Adipurush.
"This is the genuine Ramayana, not Adipurush."
Several users shared images of the peek on X (previously Twitter) and remarked at how much better Ramayana appears. "Today, #Ramayana is coming to destroy #Adipurush ko aaj se itihaas bhul jayegi kyunki Adharm ka vinash karne aa raha hai #Ramayana," one person wrote. (Since Ramayana is here to save the day, history will forget Adipurush.) This is the authentic Ramayan we have been anticipating. #NitishTiwari #NamitMalhotra #RanbirKapoor, thank you. You treated the emotions with such foresight while simultaneously bringing the classic tale of bravery to life.
Another wrote, “They single-handedly saved #Adipurush’s soul. #Ramayana already looks perfect — it just needs music that’s rooted, grand, and goosebump-worthy. Hans Zimmer’s scale + Ajay-Atul’s soul = (fire emoji)” One person thought, “#Ramayana is what Om Raut thought Adipurush will look like,” calling it ‘visually fantastic’. Another person agreed, “What Adipurush thought it looked like.” One just wanted to know why Sai wasn’t shown in the glimpse, writing, “Where is our Sita maa? She isn’t there for a second too.”
‘Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman’s music is goosebumps-worthy’
The backdrop music for the announcement video, which was created by Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman, was praised by reviewers, and one X user wrote, "I am very happy with the music of Hans Zimmer and AR Rehman sir...". It's simply amazing... We're in good hands, and we're getting what we anticipate." "Hans zimmer and ar rahman doing music for Ramayana that is crazyyyyyyyy," another person wrote. One reviewer even referred to it as the 'peak international score', adding, "Peak International Score by our thalaivARR & Hans Zimmer."
The Ramayana will be released in theaters in two installments for Diwali in 2026 and 2027. The movie was directed by Namit Malhotra.
