Since his debut in the 2010 movie Leader, directed by Sekhar Kammula, actor-producer Rana Daggubati has been selective about his roles. Currently, he is collaborating with Dulquer Salmaan to produce a Tamil-Telugu bilingual movie starring the Malayalam actor. Rana told THR India that Dulquer was the ideal actor for the role, despite the fact that he may have performed it as well.
Rana Daggubati, who produced Dulquer Salmaan's film
When he is an actor himself, Rana was questioned about his thoughts on making a movie with Dulquer in the starring role. "Each story decides who its actor is in some manner, and everyone is right for a certain role," he stated. Furthermore, if you want to create a film, it's all about selecting the ideal option for that particular plot. The moment I heard it, I couldn't see anyone in it other than Dulquer. So I thought that we probably wouldn't have made the movie if he wasn't in it.
Additionally, Rana commended Dulquer for being "secure" as an actor rather than pandering to the audience, saying, "Dulquer is so secure in terms of just being an actor, things don't need to go into a mainstream beat of things for him to create a successful film. Therefore, I believe he was likely the greatest person to collaborate with in that manner. In his 15-year career as an actor, the actor-producer claimed that he has only enjoyed a few roles, which is why he has only performed 10–12 roles, all of which he values highly.
Concerning Kaantha
The narrative of Kaantha takes place in Madras in the 1950s, after India gained its independence. Selvamani Selvaraj directs the movie, which features Dulquer in the main role, with Rana, Bhagyashri Borse, and Samuthirakani playing supporting roles. Rana's Spirit Media and Dulquer's Wayfarer Films are the creators.
