During the promotional campaign for his forthcoming show, Mistry, Ram Kapoor, the actor, was the one who suffered the most from making a string of sexually suggestive and unpleasant remarks. The actor was pulled from future promotions with his co-star Mona Singh conducting solo interviews the next day because his comments targeted the show's marketing staff and publicists made the crew uncomfortable.

Ram Kapoor's statements during the promotion of Mistry

Mistry's media launch was held last Thursday at a Mumbai hotel, which this reporter also attended. Throughout the day, Mona Singh and Ram Kapoor conducted more than a dozen interviews. Ram Kapoor reportedly made multiple remarks about kissing a male member of the show's marketing team and even hinted that his mother "should have gone to sleep" instead of becoming pregnant with him. Additionally, he made jokes in front of a reporter about being "gang-raped" and mentioned several sexual positions.

"How can I not look if they are in my line of sight?" the actor said of the attire worn by some of the female crew members at the location. Following the conclusion of the interviews for the day on Thursday night, HT was able to independently confirm that the issue had been brought up internally.

Ram Kapoor taken out of advertising

The interviews were conducted by Mona alone on Friday night. After the issue was brought up, the actor was instructed to avoid participating in the advertising, according to a source inside HT. According to a JioHotstar source, the site where Mistry will stream, “This workplace prioritises dignity and safety.” The administration acted quickly after the events were supported by eyewitnesses and a formal complaint was made. The platform aims to disassociate itself from any conduct that normalizes workplace misbehavior. Only Mona is being interviewed.

Mistry is the authorized version of the Emmy-winning show Monk. On June 27, the show will be available for online streaming.
