Diljit Dosanjh, who is now receiving criticism for casting Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in his forthcoming movie Sardaar Ji 3, has found an advocate in Rakhi Sawant. Rakhi posted a video of Diljit and Hania from the movie on Instagram on Thursday, referring to Hania as "my sweetheart" and wishing her well on her "Bollywood debut."

Congratulation my darling, Rakhi posted a sneak peek from the movie on her Instagram account on Thursday. I'm overjoyed, Hania AmeeR. Welcome to Bollywood movies at last! Congratulations, Daljit sardaar Ji!3 (sic). 

She pleaded with her followers to see Sardaar Ji 3 and shared another video from it. "Everyone should see this film," she said in the caption. Hania AmeeR, Sardaar3, is making her debut. Everyone should be grateful to her. She's my favorite. I wish you the best of luck. May Allah bless you, Haniya (sic).

The controversy surrounding Sardaar Ji 3

The casting of Hania has generated debate, particularly in light of the Pahalgam terror attack earlier this year and current political unrest. Diljit and his future projects in India have even been subject to a ban by groups such as the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) and the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA).

Diljit said in a recent interview with the BBC Asian Network that the film was made in February, before the present strain arose.

“Everything was great when this movie was produced. In February, we shot it, and at the time, everything was fine. Many significant events that are outside of our control occurred after that. As a result, the producers chose to release the movie abroad because it is clear that it won't be released in India at this time. When the film was being made, nothing like this was happening, and the producers have invested a lot of money, Diljit stated.

The film Sardaar Ji 3, which Amar Hundal directed, will be available for worldwide release on June 27, but it won't be shown in Indian theaters.
