Actor Mukul Dev's untimely death caused shockwaves in the industry and rampant rumor about the circumstances surrounding his passing. Rahul Dev, Mukul's brother and an actor, has now come forward to clarify the situation about his death.

Rahul stated that many people believed Mukul's death was caused by depression, but that it was really related to his unhealthy eating habits.

Rahul discusses Mukul's passing

Rahul explained the cause of his brother Mukul's death in a conversation with The Times of India.

Rahul stated, "He spent eight and a half days in the ICU." From a medical standpoint, it was caused by bad dietary choices. He hadn't eaten anything at all in the previous four or five days. Naturally, he was lonely and disinterested in life. He would decline numerous job opportunities. The reality is only now sinking in after finishing all the rites, and I can already tell that the agony will only get worse.

He revealed that Mukul had moved to Delhi in 2019 to tend to their father, who died later that year. In 2023, their mother died. Rahul claims that Mukul became reclusive and immersed himself in writing. He stated that his brother was missing his daughter terribly and that living alone wasn't helping him take care of himself.

Rahul dismisses the rumors that Mukul was battling depression after his death, which was reported in several places.

In response to the reports, Rahul stated, "The people who are speaking out now weren’t even in touch with him." Despite running half-marathons, they claim he was unfit. Indeed, he had put on weight; it was clear that he no longer cared about himself. Who actually kept in touch with him between 2019 and 2024? Did they go to his prayer meetings or visit him while he was in the hospital?

Rahul wishes to recall Mukul "not as the man who faded away, but as the super charming, intelligent, and sensitive person he truly was."

Mukul Dev, who starred in movies like R... Rajkumar, Yamla Pagla Deewana, and Son of Sardaar, died on May 23 in New Delhi after suffering from health issues. The national capital hosted the actor's final rites.

Mukul Dev appeared in a number of TV shows, including Kumkum - Ek Pyara Sa Bandhan, Gharwali Uparwali, Kasshish, and Ssshhhh... Phir Koi Hai. He also appeared in well-known movies such as Jai Ho, R... Rajkumar, Son of Sardaar, and Yamla Pagla Deewana. Son of Sardaar 2, which has not yet been released, is his most recent movie.
