Priyanka Chopra was to play Surpanakha in Ramayana

According to the Times of India, Priyanka Chopra was first offered the part of Surpanakha, Ravan's sister, which Yash portrayed. Ultimately, however, because of PeeCee's overseas obligations, the part went to Rakul Preet Singh.
"Surpanakha is one of the main reasons the Ramayan took place," the site was told by the source. The producers were eager to cast Priyanka Chopra in the same part. However, due to her busy schedule with international projects, things didn't go as planned. At that point, Rakul joined the team. She brought intensity and a new perspective to the role, which she was ideal for.
