Priya Sachdev Steps Up in Business Leadership After Sunjay Kapur’s Demise

Following the passing of businessman Sunjay Kapur, who was formerly married to Karisma Kapoor, Priya Sachdev is taking on more duties in the company and has been named an additional non-executive director on the board of his firm, Sona Comstar.

People began debating who will be in charge of the business after Sunjay passed away. The rumors have now been addressed by the firm. Jeffrey Mark Overly has been chosen to serve as their new chairman, while Vivek Vikram Singh will remain in his position as CEO.

Furthermore, Priya has been appointed to the board as an Additional Non-Executive Director (NED), a position that will enable her to offer strategic counsel and direction to the business without being engaged in day-to-day operations. LinkedIn also featured the message.

"Mrs. Priya Sachdev Kapur is a versatile entrepreneur and investor whose journey has encompassed continents, sectors, and concepts. She is presently the Director of Aureus Investment Private Limited and actively participates in determining its investment plan," the official statement said.

The note continues, "Priya, a former investment banker and luxury retail pioneer, began her career as an M&A analyst at Credit Suisse First Boston in London, before returning to India to lead ventures in automotive retail, insurance, and later, high fashion."

At University College London, Priya completed a BSc degree with a dual concentration in Mathematics and Business Management.

What do we know about Sunjay's passing?

On June 12, Sunjay Kapur, the former husband of actress Karisma Kapoor and a close buddy of Prince William, passed away in England while participating in a polo game. Sunjay, 53, apparently died from a heart attack he had while playing polo, according to early reports. Delhi hosted his funeral last week.

Sunjay had three children and three marriages. In 1996, he wed fashion designer Nandita Mahtani, and the marriage lasted for four years. After that, in 2003, he wed the actress Karisma Kapoor. Karisma and Sanjay's marriage produced two children: Samaira (19) and Kiaan (13). In 2014, they decided to divorce by mutual agreement. In 2016, their divorce was finalized. Sunjay wed Priya Sachdev in 2017 after their divorce. Azarias is the couple's sole child. He was married to Priya when he passed away.
