Air India plane disaster: A London-bound Air India flight with 242 passengers on board crashed shortly after takeoff near Ahmedabad airport on Thursday afternoon. Alia Bhatt, the actress, called the event 'devastating' in her response.

Alia posted a report by Faye D'Souza on the Ahmedabad plane crash in her Instagram Stories. She captioned it, "This is devastating." "My heart aches for all the passengers and crew... thoughts and prayers for everyone on board and their loved ones... (broken heart and folded hands emoticons)."

Regarding the airplane disaster in Ahmedabad

Around 2 p.m., in the Meghaninagar neighborhood close to the Ahmedabad international airport, the Boeing plane, which was visible descending rapidly, crashed.

Police officials stated that the aircraft crashed in a civilian area close to the airport, while Air India claimed that the plane was on its way to Gatwick airport in the UK. Prime Minister Narendra Modi instructed the Indian aviation minister's office to provide all possible assistance to the rescue operations without delay, according to the office.

The officials have stated that "until further notice," no flights will be permitted to leave or land at the airport. The SVPIA spokesperson's official statement stated, "Flight AI 171 from Ahmedabad to London, Gatwick, was involved in a crash shortly after takeoff, outside the airport." As a result, Ahmedabad's Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport is inactive at this time. "All flight operations are briefly halted until further notice."
