The relationship between Malayalam actor Unni Mukundan and his former PR manager, Vipin Kumar, became strained in May of this year. Following a quarrel close to his house, Vipin had charged Unni with assault and brought a lawsuit against him. The police have now stated that there is no evidence to support these claims, according to an OnManorama article.

According to police, there is no evidence that Vipin Kumar was assaulted by Unni Mukundan

According to the report, the police filed the chargesheet against Unni in court and said that they had no evidence that the performer had attacked Vipin. Additionally, they said that the conflict between the two was confined to a fight and did not constitute a violent assault.

The chargesheet states that Vipin's glasses broke during the altercation, and although he may have suffered some minor injuries, there was no intention to cause harm. According to the police record, the CCTV video of the area similarly provided no proof of Vipin's accusations.

What transpired

After a complaint from Vipin, an FIR was filed against Unni on May 26 under the appropriate provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Vipin claimed that Unni had verbally and physically assaulted him close to his house. In a meeting arranged by Unni, he claimed that he was struck in the basement of his house in Kochi. Vipin also asserted that his life was in danger.

Unni refuted the allegations made against him, claiming that although the dispute, the physical altercation, and the shattering of Vipin's glasses were all factual. Unni refuted the claim that he had physically assaulted Vipin. According to Vipin, the dispute was brought on by Unni's rage over Vipin's promotion of Tovino Thomas' movie Narivetta. Unni refuted all charges and filed a counter-report against Vipin. He also tweeted a screenshot of a conversation with Tovino, asserting that everything was alright between them.
