Since becoming the Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh in June 2024, actor Pawan Kalyan has been juggling his administrative responsibilities with finishing filming the movies he has signed up for prior to elections. He responded to criticism about mixing politics and film in an interview with ABN, clarifying whether he intends to give up acting after Hari Hara Veera Mallu, They Call Him OG, and Ustaad Bhagat Singh.

Following his entry into politics, Pawan Kalyan discusses acting.

The opposition has been criticizing Pawan for carrying on despite his foray into politics, and he was questioned about it. "When I signed these three films, I had intended to finish them before the elections," he answered. I did, however, waste valuable time prior to the elections as a result of some political events. I asked the producers of all three films for forgiveness because I needed a few more days to finish them. I only worked for two hours a day, even after taking office, and spent the rest of my time filming movies.

In an update on his upcoming initiatives, Pawan said that he has no intentions to leave the film industry in the future and that he has not yet agreed to any new ones. "I'm done filming for OG, and I have about five days left to finish Ustaad Bhagat Singh. Since my focus is on the administration and the Janasena Party, I will absolutely not perform if I have political conflicts. But for my financial survival, I need movies. As a result, I intend to concentrate on making movies in the future. Even if I do take action, it will only be for two hours a day. However, the actor-politician said that he has not yet signed any further movies.
