This year marks 30 years since Ektaa Kapoor began working in television. She created legendary programs like Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii and Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. Many of her shows, though, drew criticism for their portrayal of women with little autonomy and for undermining family values. In an interview with Learn From The Legend's YouTube channel, producer Pahlaj Nihalani has now blasted Ektaa for destroying Indian culture with her television shows.

What Pahlaj had to say about Ektaa

Pahlaj was questioned throughout the conversation about the recent transformation in Hindi movies and how the tastes of the viewers have changed. “Even Shah Rukh Khan, who was famous for his romantic roles in movies like Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, is now holding a gun in his films,” he said in reply. Therefore, these movies are functioning now. Consider RRR, which was based on the Ramayana and Mahabharat, and then in Kalki 2898 AD, the conclusion was entirely influenced by the Mahabharat. "The influence of Hindustani culture is still so prevalent in our community."

"The culture is gradually being ruined"

However, Pahlaj continued, "But then, we as an audience are being fed things like a woman getting married three times..." The amazing Ektaa Kapoor! Here, men are not permitted to marry twice, but she marries these women three times! As a result, the culture is gradually changing and deteriorating. In the past, just a small number of erotic films were produced; nowadays, they are engaging in sexual activity even while they are flying.

With her production firm, Balaji Telefilms, Ektaa has also entered Bollywood throughout the years. She has produced movies such as The Dirty Picture, Veere Di Wedding, Dream Girl, and Raagini MMS. On ALTBalaji, she recently supported the reality program Lock Up, which was hosted by Kangana Ranaut.
