Naseeruddin Shah Withdraws Support for Diljit Dosanjh in Sardaar Ji 3 Controversy
5 months ago | 5 Views
After veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah spoke out in support of Diljit Dosanjh's choice to collaborate with Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in Sardaar Ji 3, he received criticism on social media. But in what appeared to be a reaction to the unfavorable response, Naseeruddin removed his Facebook message.
Following a barrage of criticism, Naseeruddin Shah deletes the message.
Diljit received a kind word from Naseeruddin on Facebook on Monday, but it seems that the post was taken down because it's no longer on his timeline. It appears to be a response to the criticism he received for his remarks.
The actor has written a cryptic message on Facebook after deleting the post in which he quoted Georg Christoph Lichtenberg.
"It is practically hard to carry the torch of truth through a crowd without singeing somebody's beard," said Naseeruddin, a scientist and philosopher from Georg Christoph Lichtenberg.
The debate in the comments section of Naseeruddin's most recent piece is split between those who defend his right to free expression and those who condemn him for endorsing Diljit's partnership with a Pakistani performer.

What did Naseeruddin post on Facebook?
In the face of the criticism he is receiving for collaborating with a Pakistani actor in Sardaar Ji 3, Naseeruddin used Facebook earlier this week to express his support for Diljit.
“I STAND FIRM WITH DILJIT,” Naseeruddin wrote in defense of Diljit. The Jumla Party's dirty tricks division has been waiting for an opportunity to target him. They believe they've finally figured it out. The director, not him, was in charge of casting the movie.
However, he continued, "Diljit is known the world over, but nobody knows who he is, and he agreed to the cast because his mind is not poisoned." These thugs want to break down interpersonal communication between the citizens of India and Pakistan. No one can prevent me from seeing my loved ones or expressing my affection for them whenever I feel the urge, since I have close family there and some cherished friends. To those who would say "Go to Pakistan," my answer is "GO TO KAILASA."
Diljit in the limelight for Sardaar Ji 3
Diljit has been subjected to criticism for his most recent movie, Sardaar Ji 3, including by Pakistani actress Hania Aamir, in the last few days. Additionally, Neeru Bajwa appears in the movie. In the middle of the mayhem, the film premiered internationally on June 27. India did not see its release.
Calls for a ban on Diljit and his future work in India have surfaced since the release of the trailer. Diljit and all of his future endeavors have been banned by the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) and the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE). According to vocalist Mika Singh, Diljit should say sorry. The commotion follows the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22 and India's Operation Sindoor on May 7, which targeted terrorist bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir with airstrikes.
