In 2023, after three years of marriage, businesswoman Chaitanya Jonnalagadda and Niharika Konidela, the daughter of actor, producer, and politician Naga Babu, who is also an actor and producer, separated. In an interview with Hit TV Specials, Naga Babu discusses his daughter's divorce and whether she will remarry.

Prioritizing his children's well-being, Naga Babu

Naga Babu discussed giving his children Varun Tej and Niharika the freedom to choose their careers and forge their own way in the business. Additionally, he urged all parents to place a higher priority on their children's joy above setting unrealistic expectations for them. "I don't care if my children's movies are hits or flops; their happiness is my priority. What's the point of having crores if they aren't happy?" he said.

Naga Babu discusses Niharika Konidela's divorce

Before agreeing to their marriage, he said that he just asked Varun if he was content with Lavanya and if he could see a future with her. In the case of Niharika, though, Naga Babu acknowledged that he had misjudged the situation. He said, "In Niharika's case, my judgment was wrong," as he opened up about his divorce from Chaitanya. We made a mistake in that marriage since we were unable to evaluate it fairly. She accepted the proposal when it came, and we thought the marriage would be beneficial, so we didn't coerce her. They split up by mutual agreement because they weren't in sync. I never made an effort or tried to persuade them to stay together. I was fine with their choice because they were unhappy and didn't want to be with each other. Right now, Niharika is hard at work creating films. At some point in her life, she will marry another man. That's it."

The bond between Chaitanya and Niharika

In front of their families in Udaipur, Niharika and Chaitanya were married in a lavish ceremony in December 2020. Several of the biggest figures in Telugu cinema, including Chiranjeevi, Pawan Kalyan, Ram Charan, and Allu Arjun, were among the attendees at the wedding. In 2023, though, they split up.

In a statement posted on Instagram, Niharika stated that she and Chaitanya had decided to separate amicably and asked for compassion and understanding as they moved on. I appreciate the unwavering support of my friends and family. Please allow us to live in peace as we figure out this new normal. I appreciate your understanding.
