With her unforgettable performances and her captivating on-screen connection with iconic actors like Shammi Kapoor and Rajesh Khanna, Mumtaz established herself as the queen of the silver screen. Mumtaz has spoken about her co-stars and shared sincere, unheard moments with them in numerous interviews. Nonetheless, in a recent interview with the Times of India, Mumtaz revealed how her remarks, including those of Shammi's wife, have 'hurt' people.

Mumtaz's remarks inflict harm on others

"Everybody keeps asking me the same old things," Mumtaz said, adding that her honest admissions had gotten her into some complicated situations. Additionally, my sister received a few calls. My sister received complaints from folks. They say, "Mumtaz shouldn't respond to those questions." But how many times should I say no comments? Everybody wants to ask me questions. ‘You are hurting industry people,’ my sister informed me. They are my family, and I have no intention of causing them any pain.

According to Mumtaz, Shammi Kapoor's wife dislikes when she discusses him.

"People whom I have spoken about, now their kids have grown up, and they don't like it when I speak the truth," she said, adding that Shammi's wife feels guilty that she continually mentions him. I don't feel bad about it. However, it becomes boring. All everyone wants to talk about is Rajesh Khanna and Shammi Kapoor. It's really boring. His (Shammi's) wife feels terrible, thinking, "Why is she talking about my husband?" As a result, I don't want to upset anyone.

In 1955, Shammi wed Geeta Bali, an actress. She did, however, pass away in 1965 from smallpox. Shammi married Neila Devi in 1969, after Geeta Bali's death, and she remained by his side until his passing in 2011.

Mumtaz's words about Rajesh Khanna and Shammi Kapoor

Mumtaz had mentioned her unrequited love for Shammi in her recent interview with Radio Nasha and reflected on their final encounter at the celebrity's celebration. In a future existence, she even voiced her desire to meet him. "I didn't speak to him much," she stated. I told him to take care of himself while sitting next to him for a bit. It was heartbreaking to watch him pass away. If it's said that people meet in another life, then maybe we will. I'm not sure if it's true. However, he was a fantastic individual. He was a bit picky, but he was a very good-looking guy. He might have had a lot of women if he had wanted to, but he was picky. In my opinion, he was extremely attractive.

She also mentioned how Rajesh Khanna's female admirers were envious of her due to her closeness to the superstar. Additionally, she said that people believed they were having an affair due to their unique relationship and 15 hits together. Mumtaz and Rajesh have captivated viewers with their chemistry in movies such as Do Raaste, Aap Ki Kasam, Roti, Dushman, and Sachaa Jhutha, among others, for those who are unfamiliar.
