Mohit Suri on Casting Aneet Padda in Saiyaara: "I Wanted Natural Beauty, No Alterations"

Saiyarra, directed by filmmaker Mohit Suri, is smashing box office records and winning over audiences. The chemistry between Aneet Padda and Ahaan Panday in the movie has everyone talking. Mohit told Bollywood Hungama in an interview about why he chose Aneet as the protagonist and recounted their terrible first encounter.

Prior to the movie's premiere, Mohit discussed the casting process and disclosed that Aditya Chopra was the one who first introduced him to Ahaan. During their first encounter, he didn't see the personality of his film in Ahaan, but he spent time with him and gradually came to see the traits he was seeking.

The reason Mohit Suri picked Aneet Padda for Saiyara is explained

Mohit went on to explain why he chose Aneet for the role, saying, "I'm sorry if I don't sound politically correct, but one thing that was very scary was that I wanted a 20–22-year-old girl who hasn't done anything cosmetological to her face or body in today's age. That was a major need. I sought for someone who was genuine and had not changed their body. Aneet was really good at her previous job. She was, above all else, an outstanding performer, particularly in the role I asked her to play. She made it through all the audition slaughtering. He noted that while other performers also performed well in their auditions, they were "too done up."

Then, he shared how he broke the ice with Aneet by saying, "The first meeting with her was a disaster. She entered the workplace in a yellow outfit, and I was accompanied by Ahaan. "What the hell are you wearing?" I asked her. Someone had told her that's how the character was. She must have been very frightened, and this generation tends to become chatty when they are afraid. But Ahaan attempted to monopolize the conversation. Her tests, however, were extremely thorough. That day, Ahaan saved Aneet from a bad circumstance, he said.

Concerning Saiyaara

A struggling musician named Ahaan in the love tale finds his life changed when he meets Vaani Batra (Aneet), an ambitious young woman who wants to become a journalist. Their love tale, which takes place against the backdrop of dreams, passion, and heartbreak, is full of emotional highs and lows.

The music, in addition to Mohit Suri's direction and Ahaan and Aneet's chemistry, is what resonated with the audience. Fans are unable to resist humming the tunes, from Tum Ho Toh, Saiyaara, Barbaad, to Humsafar. In only four days, the picture has surpassed the ₹100 crore threshold at the box office, and it is still bringing people into theaters.
