After reportedly leaving Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Spirit, Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone recently ignited discussion about the eight-hour shift rule in the film industry. A number of celebrities, including Neha Dhupia and Soha Ali Khan, have publicly backed her. Filmmaker Mohit Suri has now contributed to the continuing debate in an interview with NDTV.

Deepika Padukone's 8-hour shift request, according to Mohit Suri

"Well, to each their own," Mohit said, explaining that no director wants actors to go above and beyond what is required. It depends on the sort of budget you have, in my opinion. In my opinion, no director wants to push anybody to do more than what is necessary. Nobody is cruel enough to intentionally torment anybody. Sometimes, you are constrained by factors such as budgets, which affects all aspects of your life, including the amount of hours you spend filming each day.

After agreeing to a project, he went on to say that it's unfair for someone to dictate the conditions: "You have a choice to be a part of something or not. However, I believe it to be unjust for someone to join and then begin to dictate conditions. You were aware of the project's specifics, including its limitations and facts.

Deepika was slated to star in Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Spirit. Following her purported departure, it was said that the filmmaker did not respond favorably to her requests, which included a share of the earnings, an eight-hour workday, and not speaking her lines in Telugu. Later, she was succeeded as the female lead by Triptii Dimri.

Concerning Mohit Suri's forthcoming flick

In the interim, Mohit is now preoccupied with promoting his next film, Saiyaara. The film features Aneet Padda and Ahaan Panday in the key roles, and it is Ahaan's debut in the film business. Saiyara is said to be a passionate love tale that was created by Akshaye Widhani, directed by Mohit Suri, and presented by Aditya Chopra. The movie will be released in theaters on July 18.
