The General Election in India is on and the frenzy over the political battle has gripped the country. Some of the phases of the election are over and some more are left. Soumitrisha Kundu, who became a household name with her performance in Zee Bangla’s Mithai, has shared her political opinion recently. Mithai streams on Zee5 and one can watch it on OTTplay Premium.

Soumitrisha states that everyone should cast their vote. She also thinks that they should vote freely. The actress said that last year she cast her vote for the first time. In an interview with Anandabazar Online, she said, “Every first time is special. I was happy to vote for my favourite party. It happens many times that the family influences the younger generation in choosing the candidate. But I forced my parents to vote for my favourite party. But I don't think they did it.”

Soumitrisha also said that every government has faults, but votes should be cast by thinking which government can reduce our problems. “That party should be voted so that it can lessen the problems a bit,” said the actress.

Soumitrisha thinks that the inflation rate should be controlled. “It is a matter of worry how prices go up every day. The rich people get richer and the poor become suffocated. Luxury is not needed. But a government must guarantee the three basic needs--food, clothing, and housing. Taxes should also be lessened. The high rate of tax is problematic for the common people,” said the actress.
