Metro In Dino Faces Early Setbacks as Sara Ali Khan’s Role Sparks Conversation

Since the trailer dropped, the Metro In Dino cast has been working overtime to promote the film. They've done interviews, appeared at press events, and even pulled off a few surprise public stunts. It’s clear they’re trying everything to stir up interest. But the stunt that caught everyone’s eye was Sara Ali Khan and Aditya Roy Kapur riding the metro train, claiming it was to “connect with the masses.” If even Saif Ali Khan’s daughter is resorting to pranks like this, people are left wondering—does the cast think the movie will flop?

It’s hard not to believe that director Anurag Basu might be regretting casting Sara. Once again, it seems nepotism has played a bigger role than talent. Her acting looks secondary, at best. The trailer shows her playing a female version of her father from Humshakals, but that’s not a compliment. It’s obvious she didn’t put much effort into her role, relying instead on mimicry and inherited expressions.

The film doesn’t help either. It feels like scenes are recycled from old movies. Sara’s emotional breakdown looks almost the same as one from Love Aaj Kal, and a bike chase echoes scenes from both Love Aaj Kal and Aditya’s OK Jaanu. It’s as if the movie is a mash-up of scenes from previous films, rather than something new.

Off-screen drama isn’t doing the film any favors either. Rumors say Sara took the role to get closer to Aditya Roy Kapur, especially after his rumored breakup with Ananya Panday—who’s supposed to be Sara’s best friend. Fans are calling Sara a ‘traitor’ for hanging out so much with Aditya. These kinds of rumors could make people ignore the movie altogether.

Early box office predictions are brutal. The movie might earn only ₹2–2.5 crore opening against a budget of ₹125 crore. That’s why the marketing push is so intense – they’re grasping at straws to stay in the game.

Anurag Basu’s bet on star power and nostalgia with Life in a... Metro looks shaky. Putting all faith into quantity over quality rarely works. Sara Ali Khan is the weak link in this chain. Even with a strong cast, one bad performance can spoil everything. Sadly, Sara might be that bad link here.

Now the film is being roasted online. It’s become a joke. Sara needs to realize acting isn’t just about shouting, hand gestures, or nodding. It’s about feeling real, showing depth, and being genuine. Sadly, those qualities seem missing in her performance.
