Famous Telugu folk singer Mangli got into legal trouble after hosting a birthday celebration for relatives and friends at a resort in Chevella, close to Hyderabad. For throwing a party without the required permits, the Chevella police have filed a case against the singer and three other people.

Singer Mangli arrested for hosting a birthday celebration without alcohol or sound permission

Police discovered 25 guests at the resort on Tuesday night, with a DJ playing music, according to the news agency PTI. The birthday celebration for Mangli was planned without the Excise Department's permission to serve alcohol at a commercial venue or a police license for using the sound system. The police stated that cases were filed against Mangli, the resort manager, and two others for purportedly violating the NDPS Act, the loudspeaker regulation, and the Excise Act.

A party attendee tests positive for drugs, and Mangli clarifies

At Mangli's birthday, NDPS kits were used to collect samples from the guests, and one of the samples tested positive for marijuana. The police stated that he admitted to smoking marijuana four days earlier when they were questioned. The drug provider is being tracked and traced by the probe.

Following reports of alcohol and drug infractions at her birthday celebration, Mangli released a video statement to the media explaining the events. My birthday was celebrated at a resort with a limited number of attendees, as my parents had wanted," she stated. My folks, my pals, my family, and my parents' friends were all there.

She acknowledged that she "wasn't aware" that she needed to request permission for alcohol and noise, but she refuted that drugs were consumed at the resort. "We did have a sound system and alcohol, but I did not know we needed to take permission for it. “It was a misunderstanding; otherwise, I would have sought authorization,” Mangli stated. “Furthermore, my party consisted only of local booze.” Additionally, the police searched the property for narcotics and discovered none. Prior to it, the only individual who tested positive for it had used it. We are assisting the police in their investigation.
