As a course at a college in Kochi, students can now study Malayalam actor Mammootty's five-decade career in cinema. According to a report by OnManorama, Mammootty's career may be researched as part of the History of Malayalam Cinema course at Maharaja's College in Kerala.

The BA Honors History curriculum includes Mammootty

The study states that Maharaja's College's BA History students will learn about Mammotty's life, profession, and impact on film. His life and career are discussed at length in the chapter titled "Sensing Celluloid: History of Malayalam Cinema." Intriguingly, Mammootty attended the institution as well. The chapter also includes Padmarajan, Adoor Gopalakrishnan, Sharadha, Sheela, Jayan, Madhu, Prem Nazir, Sathyan, and Mohanlal. It is said that the curriculum also pays tribute to local heroes who made a difference in Kerala's social and cultural environment. The syllabus will be implemented starting in the 2025–2026 academic year.

Recent studies

This year, Mammootty appeared in Gautham Vasudev Menon's Malayalam debut, Dominic and the Ladies' Purse, as well as debut director Deeno Dennis' action film Bazooka. In a movie he's making called Kalamkaval, which is being directed by Jithin K Jose, he'll play Cyanide Mohan soon. Additionally, he appears with Mohanlal, Fahadh Faasil, and Nayanthara in a movie directed by Mahesh Narayanan. During a health scare, he has not made any announcements about his plans for the future.

In March of this year, at Sabarimala, Mohanlal asked for Mammootty's welfare, which infuriated a few Muslim leaders. In an interview with Reporter TV in June, Rajya Sabha MP John Brittas, a friend of Mammootty's, stated that "Mammootty is currently receiving treatment for a minor health condition." I just spoke to him over the phone, and he's fine. Although we have been friends for a long time, we were never the type of people who discussed our private lives extensively. However, in the last few days, we have also been sharing such information.
