Madhoo, the actress known for movies like Phool Aur Kaante and Roja, just revealed the reason she shied away from daring parts in the beginning of her career. In a frank interview with News18, Madhoo described an awkward moment involving a kissing scene that made her feel uneasy and dismayed.

Madhoo disclosed that her conservative upbringing made it difficult for her to feel comfortable with onscreen intimacy. She described declining several assignments because she didn't want to perform explicit scenes. In reflecting on one particular event, Madhoo disclosed that she had been instructed to shoot a kissing scene without any warning.

Madhoo remembers a terrible kissing moment

She remarked, "It wasn't the kind of kiss that we see in films today," without mentioning the movie or the co-star involved. Even though it was more like a kiss on the lips, it still made me feel horrible. I wasn't informed prior to starting filming that I would have to kiss. They pulled me aside and we spoke after I was informed. I did it because they told me why it was necessary. However, it was the worst and least convincing thing I had ever done.

She went on to say, "The kiss didn't even have any function." I didn't even speak with the director about excluding that scene from the movie. I let it go. I was too young in every manner, not only in terms of age. Today, 22- and 24-year-olds are so intelligent and well-informed. "I was very naive at 22."

Madhoo's next movie

The next time we see Madhoo is in Kannappa, a Telugu-language fantasy movie directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh and produced by Mohan Babu. The movie, which features Vishnu Manchu in the lead role, is inspired by the story of Kannappa, a Hindu mythological follower of Lord Shiva. Mohan Babu, R. Sarathkumar, Arpit Ranka, Kaushal Manda, Rahul Madhav, Devaraj, Mukesh Rishi, and Brahmanandam are also part of the ensemble. Kannappa is scheduled to hit theaters on June 27. The movie will also have special appearances by Akshay Kumar, Prabhas, Kajal Aggarwal, and Mohanlal.
