For some time, there has been speculation that Rajinikanth's next picture with Lokesh Kanagaraj has a budget of between Rs 350 and 400 crores. In addition, it has been rumored that Rajinikanth earns an astounding ₹150 crore salary, whereas Lokesh earns ₹50 crore. The director stated his compensation during an interview with THR India, putting an end to all rumors.
The salary for Coolie is confirmed by Lokesh Kanagaraj
In contrast to the majority of filmmakers and performers who are evasive, Lokesh not only verified his compensation for Coolie, but he also stated in the interview that it had doubled after the success of the Vijay-starring Leo. "I am unable to comment on Rajinikanth sir's salary. But the ₹50 crore that you brought up is my salary, and it's all because of my earlier movie, Leo. The director stated, "Leo earned over 600 crores, therefore I am now earning twice as much as I did before."
The quantity was arrived at, he continued, because it took him two years to create Coolie. "I pay my taxes, and the same enables me to provide for my friends and family." The sacrifices I had to make to get here are something I have no regrets about; it was my duty, and I devoted the last two years of my life to creating Coolie," said Lokesh. He said that the film doesn't have to earn ₹1000 crore, but rather the producer, director, and actor are the only ones who should be concerned about the box office numbers.
Regarding Coolie
The film features Rajinikanth, Nagarjuna, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, Sathyaraj, Shruti Haasan, Reba Monica John, Junior MGR, Monisha Blessy, and Kaali Venkat as coolie stars.
