One of the most anticipated films of the year is unquestionably Coolie, which stars Rajinikanth and is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. The film's marketing materials have been handled with care, keeping the cards near the chest and keeping the film's narrative under wraps. Lokesh has kept quiet as well during his promotional interviews. But at last, the film's plot is as follows, if the synopses on Letterboxd and Fandango are to be believed.

The Coolie scheme is exposed

The rise of a mafia gang led by Rajinikanth's persona Deva is followed by Coolie, as stated by Letterboxd. He develops a strategy to seize control by bringing his former gang back together. "An aging gold smuggler uses stolen technology concealed in vintage golden watches to resurrect his former mafia gang," the platform synopsis states. However, his strategy for regaining his empire turns into something greater: a new cosmos created by corruption, avarice, and shattered time. The movie's marketing materials have prominently included gold and watches.

Dea's motivation for wanting to rectify some past wrongs was shown in Fandango, which seemed to give the tale more depth. "Delves into a man's relentless quest for vengeance since youth, driven by righting past wrongs, shaping his very existence. Viewers experience the complexities of his tumultuous vendetta journey," reads the synopsis on the US ticketing site. Fans were happy to learn the movie's plot considering that Lokesh and his crew haven't shared much.

All About Coolie

The films Kaithi, Vikram, and Leo are all included in the Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU), but Coolie won't be one of them. Despite being a stand-alone picture, it nonetheless has an ensemble cast of actors, including Aamir Khan, Nagarjuna, Shruti Haasan, Satyaraj, Upendra, Shoubin Shahir, and others. The movie's score was written by Anirudh Ravichander. After the success of the Vijay-starring Leo, Coolie is Lokesh's first film starring Rajinikanth. Amitabh Bachchan and Rajinikanth appeared together in Vettaiyan, and they will soon be in Jailer 2.
