Prithviraj Sukumaran, the protagonist of his next film Sarzameen, is lauded by filmmaker-actor Kayoze Irani. He discovered that collaborating with the Malayalam actor-filmmaker brought a new perspective to the project, despite its emotional thriller-like aspects.
Referring to him as a co-director
Irani tells MidDay in an interview that Prithviraj is his "co-director" and that he has never collaborated with anyone more amazing. He promised, "I'll pamper you." Additionally, he is always there for the movie and never for himself. He gives me comments on everything but himself. Possibly due to his exceptional skill.
Irani considers how Prithviraj was selected while filming Aadujeevitham in Jordan. He said that his authors Somil and Arun had told him, "It will be fun to have Prithvi sir." And I asked, Really? Do you think so? We didn't even know him. We had only just met. After they reached out, things moved quickly despite the schedule and geographical difficulties.
He read an outline due to his time limitations. He replied with "I'm very, very interested. Let's do it" the same evening.
An actor with a team spirit, under the direction of the director
Prithviraj contributed a team-player mentality to the performance because of his experience in filmmaking (he directed hit Malayalam films like Lucifer and L2: Empuraan). According to Irani, he would often seek his advice on particular circumstances. "Sometimes I'd approach him on set and tell him, 'Sir, I'm feeling this in the scene,'" he continued, "and he'd listen and either say, 'You're absolutely right,' or offer a mild suggestion." I do pay attention to him, a lot, even though he says I don't.
The director claims that Prithviraj elevated the whole movie on numerous occasions, even if it's uncommon for one actor to do so. Irani stated that the actor's modesty and commitment to the film's overall purpose made him a vital part of Sarzameen outside of his on-screen character. "He's a dream to work with," Irani says.
The publication date for Sarzameen
