"Spiritual" sequels are more popular in the Hindi film business than genuine ones. The themes and genres of these films are linked, even if they don't always carry the story forward. Metro...In Dino is the most recent spiritual sequel to Anurag Basu's 2007 blockbuster Life in a Metro. With the exception of Konkona Sen Sharma, who plays a different role, the new Metro's cast is completely different, as is customary.

But Konkona made sure that Metro In Dino kept one little link to Life in a Metro, which also paid homage to the legendary role played by the late Irrfan Khan in the first film.

The relationship between Irrfan and Dino's Metro

Konkona portrayed Shruti in Life in a Metro, a young woman seeking a partner in an arranged marriage arrangement. In the movie, it was evident how she fell in love with Monty, an eccentric and silly older man portrayed by Irrfan. Konkona's persona in Metro In Dino is named Kajal, and she is paired with Pankaj Tripathi, who also plays the role of Monty.

The protagonist wasn't known as Monty, according to director Anurag Basu in an interview with HT. It was Coco (Konkona) who made the recommendation. She said, "Let's call him Monty," and I agreed with her. It occurred during the first day of the shoot.

Konkona has the hat tip

Due to its "goofy kind of character," which is similar to Irrfan's role in the 2007 original, Konkona claims she made the suggestion. However, director Basu points out that "the character is very different." Only the name is the same. Konkona, however, claims that their method of love is the string that unites them. "The whole track is humorous," she says.

The cast of Metro In Dino also includes Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Ali Fazal, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Neena Gupta, and Anupam Kher. On July 4, the movie is set to be released.
