The "hot topic" of nepotism and her collaboration with her filmmaker mother Aparna Sen have both been addressed by actress Konkona Sen Sharma. “In a way I had the best kind of nepotism,” Konkona remarked. "Today, I realize it was a dream to work with my mother. I have had such fortunate and privileged life that I never really considered becoming an actor. I did not. She stated that she had no intentions of promoting me.

She also discussed her experience filming Mr and Mrs Iyer, saying, "My mother used to write Mr And Mrs Iyer on her desktop, and it used to be in my room." She would read it aloud to me, and my facial expressions were the only indicator to her that I should take on this role. Most of the time, I avoid being pulled into this nepotism. Is it unjust, in my opinion? Yes, it's unfair, but it happens everywhere. I would always want to recognize how fortunate and privileged I am in this circumstance, having had the chance to play Mr. and Mrs. Iyer in my third movie.

The 2002 movie Mr and Mrs Iyer, which stars Konkona and Rahul Bose, was directed by Aparna Sen. In addition to Iti Mrinalini, 15 Park Avenue, and Titli, Konkona and Aparna have also collaborated in other projects.

Konkona's work to date

With Ek Je Aachhe Kanya (2001), Konkona made her cinematic debut. Since then, she has appeared in several movies, including Omkara, Titli, Page 3, Amu, Life in a Metro, Laaga Chunari Mein Daag, Wake Up Sid, Iti Mrinalini, Talvar, Lipstick Under My Burkha, Ajeeb Daastaans, and Kuttey, among many others.

The last time Konkona was seen was in Metro In Dino, which was directed by Anurag Basu and released in theaters on July 4. The movie also stars Sara Ali Khan, Aditya Roy Kapur, Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Anupam Kher, and Neena Gupta. The film, which is supported by Bhushan Kumar's T-Series, provides an emotionally complex depiction of contemporary relationships.
