There are rumors that Kiara Advani is being considered for the role of Meena Kumari in her biography, and she is also reportedly impressed with the screenplay. But in order to dispel the rumors, Siddharth P. Malhotra, the filmmaker who owns the rights to Meena Kumari's life story, has intervened and advised her followers not to draw any conclusions but rather to wait for the formal announcement.

Sidhardh P. Malhotra clarifies the truth

To dispel rumors surrounding the film and put an end to conjecture about Kiara joining the project, Siddharth P Malhotra, who is best known for his work in Maharaj and Hichki, used Instagram on Tuesday.

"He wrote, 'Would appreciate for the media to avoid conjectures on the casting of Kamal aur Meena the script has only gotten ready and as we have a cast and more, we will only be more than happy to officially announce it.'"

The director concluded by saying, "Until then, please refrain from making speculations until you hear officially from us."

It was previously reported that Kiara Advani is in negotiations to portray Meena Kumari in the biopic and that this may be the first movie she makes following her pregnancy.

"Kiara has been approached for the ambitious project and was given a narration some time back,” according to sources. According to the report, Kiara has "loved the narration," but "the actor is yet to sign on the dotted line and give a final nod." According to the report, the film's crew also thinks that "Kiara is the perfect choice for the role, given the blend of her appearance and acting skills".

In a shared Instagram message last year, Saregama and its collaborators, including Bilal Amrohi, revealed a biopic centered on Meena Kumari's love affair with her producer-husband Kamal Amrohi. It was revealed at the time that Kamal and Meena would document their 20-year adventure, from their initial encounter when she was only 18 and he was 34, through the writing, filming, and release of the legendary Pakeezah. It is thought that Kausar Munir, Irshad Kamil, Bhavani Iyer, and AR Rahman are all involved in the initiative.

One of the best actresses in Hindi film history is considered to be Meena Kumari, also known as Mahjabeen Bano. She passed away at the age of 38, just weeks before the publication of Pakeezah, after having starred in films like Baiju Bawra (1952), Parineeta (1953), Dil Apna Aur Preet Parai (1960), Dil Ek Mandir (1963), Kaajal (1965), Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam (1962), Phool Aur Patthar (1966), Mere Apne (1971), and Pakeezah (1972).

On February 14, 1952, Kamal (Amrohi) and Meena were married in a private ceremony. Kamal was an Indian filmmaker and screenwriter who produced films like Mahal. In 1958, he founded his own business, Kamal Amrohi Studios.
