As Kerala Crime Files 2 gets accolades from across the country, Sirajudheen Nazar is soaking in all the affection for his portrayal of Jaismon in the web series. The budding actor discussed his career aspirations in an interview with OTTplay, where he made his debut in the 2018 film Kaly.
What are your opinions about the positive reception Jaismon is getting?
I am genuinely delighted, yes! I am very happy to be a part of such a great team, and I am even more excited when I receive praise about how well the audience can identify with the character. The fact that I was able to leave a lasting impression on the audience makes me happy. I found Jaismon appealing because of his passion for animals, and I could understand his behavior for the same reason. Even though I never had my own dog, I used to love petting my friends' pups. Throughout the whole production of this web series, I had a close relationship with Simba, the dog who portrays Terry.
In Kondal, RDX, and other works, you have played a negative role. Have you ever experienced being stereotyped?
I don't think so because in these films I played characters with both aspects. None of these movies depict villainy from beginning to end; by the conclusion, all of these characters come to favorable realizations. I'm happy with the assignments I receive as long as I have enough space to do well.

In your opinion, what is the hardest thing about the movie business?
Undoubtedly, survival is the most challenging aspect, given the wealth of talent and variety of platforms. It's crucial to be successful and establish a reputation in this business. I want to be in good movies above all else. At one point, I was reluctant to seek directors for a chance because I had no characters I had ever portrayed that I could suggest for a job. But I now feel confident enough to contact you. Since I've always wanted to be an actor since I was in school, I don't want to limit myself to a specific genre of acting.
What are your plans for the future?
Pet Detective, which has Anupama Parameswaran and Sharaf U Dheen as its main stars, is my next movie. We hope to hear soon about the two movies that are currently in the pre-production stage.
