At the conclusion of her Lifetimes tour's Australian leg, singer Katy Perry broke down in tears in an emotional moment on stage. Since word of her breakup with actor Orlando Bloom after nine years of dating, this was her first performance.

Katy becomes emotional

While wrapping the tour in Australia on Monday, the Cry About It Later singer broke down in tears on stage. The Grammy-nominated 40-year-old appeared moved as she formed a heart shape with her hands prior to singing Firework. The event has been captured on video and shared widely via social media. Adelaide Entertainment Centre hosted the event.

Before breaking down in tears and thanking her supporters, Katy is seen making the hand heart sign in the video. "Thank you, Australia, for always being there for me," she says into the microphone.

“It means the world,” Katy continued, then sang her smash song, Firework.

Her performance is just a few days after social media broke the news of her breakup with Orlando, 48. PEOPLE announced their breakup on June 26. The couple had been engaged before in 2019, and they share Daisy Dove, a four-and-a-half-year-old girl.

Only a few days before the actor went to Jeff Bezos' wedding to Lauren Sánchez by himself in Venice last month, the break-up was made public.

Following their split, Orlando shared a few motivational statements on his Instagram Stories while Katy was performing in Australia on Monday. "Each day is a new beginning. What we do today is what matters most," he reposted from @taomeditation, a saying attributed to Gautama Buddha.

The actor also displayed a slide that featured the text "The important thing is to take that first step. Bravely overcoming one small fear gives you the courage to take on the next," which was taken from Daisaku Ikeda's book Daily Encouragement.

Katy is backed by her supporters

Referencing her recent breakup from Orlando, the singer's supporters lauded her for "pushing through even in the hard times."

"F**k her (partners) who keep breaking up with her in the middle of tour" one stated, noting that Katy divorced Russell Brand, her ex-husband, in 2011, while she was on tour.

"I'd have two nickels if Katy Perry had a breakup during every tour, which isn't a lot but it's strange that it happened twice," another said.

The singer and Russell Brand, 50, were married for a year before their divorce. In 2016, she started dating Orlando. Following a short breakup, the on-again, off-again couple became engaged in 2019. They gave birth to Daisy in August 2020.
